Problem
Dental cavities and gingivitis are the most common chronic oral diseases caused by dental plaque. Globally, between 60–90% of schoolchildren and nearly 100% of adults have tooth decay, often leading to pain and discomfort. Oral conditions are the fourth most expensive to treat. In the United States alone, $110 billion are spent annually on oral healthcare.

Solution
The fluorescence-based imaging method is an effective solution. The Dentify device works in two modes based on normal and fluorescent imaging. It detects dental caries and teeth decay based on normal imaging and AI algorithms.
In fluorescent imaging modes, any dental caries is illustrated as dark areas on teeth area. This mode can help detect dental plaque. The fluorescent imaging utilizes UV imaging. The major advantage of autofluorescence technique is that they are noninvasive procedures that can minimize the need of unnecessary biopsies.
Industrial Design
The main challenges in product design were ergonomics, and keeping handle steady in hand. We reached the best handgrip by emotional design approach & inspiration from Orca (Killer Whale). In addition to having a special appearance, orcas are intelligent, and our product is smart, too.
